Building Emotional Intelligence Skills
I am shamelessly plugging my daughter’s upcoming mission’s trip to mexico through my blog. There is nothing that can teach you more about yourself than when you serve, and Noel (aka Mary) is doing just that below are the details, enjoy learning about the trip and about how you can help. For all that the kids will do during the trip it is very inexpensive, but every small donation helps.
Dear Family and Friends,
This year both staff, parents and students from my school, The King’s Academy will be heading off to Tecate, Mexico the week before Easter to build houses on the hills outside of town.
It is such an amazing experience. We travel, 14 hours to Tecate and live in a mini city of over 90 tents (no, we do not get a shower for 6 days). For 4 days we build houses for families that live in shacks made of old garage doors. We get to know the families, especially the kids and see how God is working in their lives. At the end of the workday we have chapel where we worship God and listen to speakers share about how they have seen God at work.
Since I went on my first missions trip last year I know that serving others is something that brings great excitement to me. My heart gets so happy to give to others, in missions, while being away from everyday life. This trip has been a long tradition at King’s Academy and the people of Tecate look forward to our yearly arrival.
Most of our cost helps to purchase the materials we use to build the homes. The other part helps supply our food and water needs, which we bring from the Sates. The full cost is $525, plus incidentals of the passport, hygiene products and work clothes. The School tries to make the trip as inexpensive as possible, with the help of teachers & parents stepping up to caravan in their vehicles and working long hours to provide us with meals throughout the trip.
It would be a great help to my family and me if you would prayerfully consider donating financially to this trip. All donations are tax-deductible. We are believing for 100% support. If you are unable, thank you for reading my letter and sharing my joy. Please pray for me, as I prepare to embark on this blessed trip. However you decide to support me please let me know so I can be sure to send you updates on God’s provision. Below you will find directions for financial support.
God Bless You,
Mary Noel Lawrence
